Glasgow Highland Games

Today I photographed the Highland Games, a Scottish celebration that takes place near Glasgow, Kentucky. It was so wonderfully strange. I ate haggis for the first time, entered an ax throwing competition, and saw the greatest tattoo in the world. Sadly at the end of the day I still can't tell if someone is playing the bagpipes correctly or very poorly.

I guess this photo needs a caption, so here it is: David Price, Jr., of Hopkinsville, Ky., had his own face tattooed on the back of his head after his son told him he seemed to have eyes in the back of his head 12 years ago.

Finals Stress Relief

The Housing and Res Life brought a couple of pups on campus for stress relief.

Ashton

Here are a couple photos from a story we ran on Ashton Hughes, a 10-year-old with juvinile authritis among other diseases who still loves playing sports. He was a sweet kid and it was a nice story to work on, despite getting very lost on the drive there. Mock Fatal Crash

Bowling Green high schools like to scare students before prom so that they hopefully won't drink and drive. They have a fake crash scene and all the real first responders come to save the actors. I thought it was going to be kind of cheesy, but it actually felt pretty real.
Chief Deputy Coroner Dwayne Lawrence kisses his daughter, Morgan Healey, 18, on the forehead during a demonstration of a fatal car crash for juniors and seniors at Greenwood High School Friday morning. Healey, who is a senior at Greenwood, played a passenger with severe injuries and was taken from the demonstration by helicopter.

Mini Corvette Challenge

In the Mini Corvette Challenge adults race go carts. Here's a guy who crashed into the hay bales.

Police Training

The BGPD don't have SWAT, they have Critical Response. This is from some of their training.
