First assignments for the Daily News

I officially started working for the Daily News on Friday. Working while in school is going to be hard, but I think I can survive a month. My first assignment was a baseball game, fittingly enough. I also photographed my greatest fear: a sinkhole. So here they are, the photos that mark the beginning of my next step in life. Thanks for looking.

Wiccan

Photographed a portrait of a witch (Wicca practicer) for the Herald the other day.

Fight Night

Maybe the most "college" thing that goes on here at Western: Sigma Chi Fight Night. Amatuer student-boxers go at it in the ring to raise money. Always a fun time.

Crawled into a Cave

I got the opportunity to crawl around in a cave for 3 hours the other night. It was incredibly difficult to take photos using just a headlamp and other people's headlamps for light, but an absolutely great way to spend a monday night. Here are some of my favorite images from the night.

Blood Drive

Sophomore Michael Karimian of Louisville grimaces as a Red Cross employee puts a needle in his arm at a blood drive Thursday at the Preston Center sponsored by Campus Ministries and the American Red Cross. Karimian said that the needle going in is the only part that bothers him and that the rest is fine.
